According to insurance statistics, fire seems to be the No.1 reason for lost yachts.

 

Other than two large dry-powder extinguishers that we have on board on easily accessible locations, we have managed to squeeze and automatic fire extinguishing system in the engine compartment.

 

In addition, we have a 2kg CO2 extinguisher that works best for electrical sourced fires, and a fire blanket in the galley.

 

There is a Smoke and CO detector in the saloon that will raise an alarm if needed.
