Dinghy & Outboard

EPropulsion.jpeg

We have a small (2.4m) dinghy for going onshore. Instead on the noisy and unreliable petrol engines that usually propulse such little boats, we have a quiet 3hp electric outboard. Its battery can be charged by the boat’s systems or by its own foldable 100W solar panel.

Unfortunately such configuration won’t allow to explore different bays of a Caribbean island at high speed, but on the positive side the bettery is portable (against theft) while the dinghy is lightweight and foldable so it can be stored inside when sailing offshore.
